I've written poems near all my life on everything and everyone
But I'd like to write one masterpiece before I feel I'm done
I'd love to find some better words to properly describe the sum
Of the feelings we all have for you, our precious Nan and Mum
Look at the family you have nurtured, it's a battle you have won
I would have faltered well before the journey had begun
We always had encouragement and love with some to spare
Your embrace the safest place whenever we were there
You're the gentle breeze that soothes me - has done all my life
The one that I have run to whenever in trouble or in strife
The constant that has taught me life, tolerance and more
A gift for all our family and one we simply love; ADORE
It's not surprise your biggest gift you've given our family
Is the love you have shown all of us, it's plain for all to see
Long before I started I knew that words could never do
So we'll leave it here, let's make it clear,
We all really do love you!
