As a child I proudly sang our songs
True Blue, Advance Australia Fair
And I marvelled at the beauty
All Australians had to share!

Our long golden sandy beaches
And our forests lush and green
Our unique and varied wildlife
Both landlocked and marine

Then there's our stark and striking deserts
Traversed by but a few
To our weather beaten ranges
And our oceans clear and blue

We were named the 'Lucky Country'
And I feel rightly so
But recently more rapidly
There's less and less to show

Though still I proudly sing our songs
The sights don't quite compare
We have bastardized our beauty
We've poisoned our clean air

Well I have four young children
It's for them that I should fight
To preserve our land, our wildlife
'Cause surely it's their right

To see the sights that I have
And marvel just the same
For if they do not get that chance
It'd be the greatest shame

Our land is blessed with features special
They are for us all to share
So let us all make certain
That you beauty's always there
