The brightest light for us but for them just fog
And the daily battle with that Bloody Black Dog
Time for others to spare, lend a helping hand
But none for themselves, I do not understand
It's just part of the puzzle who's solution aint nigh
To go from horribly low to incredibly high
With the mid ground bypassed and seldom seen
The extremities often but none in between
Hidden's the darkness and deep, deep despair
We mistakenly think they have not got a care
And lurking in the shadows that dog that is black
Who gets sent away but always comes back
It's claimed my brother, friends, strangers as well
It's torment relentless this personal hell
That Bloody Black Dog's taken too many souls
To the depths of depression, the darkest of holes
So my plea to you all keep an eye on your brother
Your sisters, your friends, your father and mother
It seems no-one's immune to the Dog that is Black
Let them know it's okay and that you have their back
Encourage people to talk of all the demons they fight
Love them and protect them with all of your might
There's some troubles ahead, a mountain to climb but
Let's fight this Bloody Black Dog one day at a time
