Arrogance I wore you like an overbearing overcoat

Anger you accompanied me till I barely stayed afloat

Apathy you tried your best but I bested you at least

Attitude I’m stuck with you - you’re an omnipresent beast

Intuition I should trust you more the signals that you share

Instinct what a gift you are in helping anticipate what’s there

Information I still seek you and I’m finding more each day

Insults why are we so close you diminish what I say

History I can learn from you both good things and the bad

Heartbreak an unfortunate emotion I wish I’d never had

Hope you are a shining light your encouragement a crutch

Honesty the greatest thing, it doesn’t fail too much

Life’s a contradiction of the high times and the low

Lean on those who love you they’re the ones who really know

Listen to your ‘heart and soul’ it seeks to do no wrong and

Learn from these, the challenge is, and know that you belong
